Rental issue

The guy who is renting the house I live in wants to show my room to another person, who will rent after me. I’m leaving the house at 4th of February and this night the guy informed me tomorrow the next tenant will come for a visit. I told him I don’t want no one to enter my room until I leave because my stuff is there and he is breaking my privacy. Also the contract I signed is for 650 € per month including gas/water/electricity and he wants me to pay more.

Good afternoon,

The amount of rent which is agreed on in an agreement, is the only amount you have to pay. Without any legitimate reason, the landlord cannot raise your rent.

Regarding showing the room to a new tenant: normally there can be a clause in the contract that the current tentant needs to cooperate when the contract is terminated by the tenant, which allows the landlord to have people view the room before renting it to another person. Maybe you can discuss with the landlord to have the viewings when you are at home.
In case you want to discuss your question further, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Yours sincerely,
