What are my tenant rights in this situation?

I am moving out of my rented room and my landlord demanded a full months rent for 8 days and I refused to pay him. We only have a verbal contract with no witnesses. He is pressuring me and saying that we have a contract that states that I must give him 1 months notice before I leave or the contract is not invalidated. What he is referring to is a poorly drafted written contract that neither of us signed. The copy of the "contract" given to the Hague municipality is not signed either. There is no written record that he can enforce. I am concerned he will push legal action once I leave or try to harass me before I leave? I want to know my rights as a tenant. I am aware that a verbal contract is binding in the Netherlands but that it is very difficult to enforce. My family has sent some form of payment. But after they heard that we only had a verbal contract they want to dispute the payment since it was made by an American credit card and freeze the money. I cannot stop them. Once the landlord realizes the freeze on the money sent, I am unsure how to protect myself from him legally or if he can do anything to me legally. For the record, the landlord only has my name and email address. He does not have a copy of my passport, BSN, drivers license, or any ID documentation. I am planning on blocking all forms of contact with him. I would like to have a lawyer just in case.

Nou doubt there is a contract , Dutch law says there is one month to respect when moving out.
