How does Legal rent document works in the Netherlands?
I was searching for house to rent and could not be able to find one during my initial days, after few days I found one temporary stay and visited the place. I enquired makelaar or real estate agent what is the rental period they said max 6 month and minimum 3 month I asked is it possible that I can switch the house in 1 month itself if I get permanent house and she said yes possible consult me Also, I had informed her I am with family if I get permanent house I will not come here she said it is your wish. On parallel I was searching for permanent house. Meanwhile she sent me few forms in email in word format asking my details and family details.
1) Intention declaration for rental properties
2) Tenant statement
And filled them and sent her back (She mentioned this not yet a lease contract in one of her emails), Now after month conversation I had saw the review for the real estate in internet and it was worst. on the other hand, I was about to get long stay house for rent for myself and family (With Kid). So I wanted to move with long stay house because I have family(Wife and Kid) and review of the short stay house is worst. On Friday She had called me few times during my office hours asking i have sent one more email you have to fill the form and send so we can have lease contact and hand over the keys on Monday and I could not be able to pick her calls because i was in office and informed her I can't pick the call now I will give call back once I am available but she was keep on calling me for 5-6 times i ignored her and remembered this morning and informed her I won't be able to sign the house contract with you because I have other house I will move there.
She started jumping on me saying I will charge and put legal case on you, and we are big agencies I will inform all other agencies so that you won't get any house for rent etc etc. I was trying to explain her I have not signed any legal contract yet; she was like whatever you signed is already a legal document we will charge you and send receipt to you if you don't pay we will send collecting agencies and all extra cost will also be charged on you so many things like threatening me. I was with wife and kid they all scared and mentally stressed now why she is shouting not listening and saying i will put legal case.
Now I am worried and wanted to know did I do anything wrong here.
With out signing actual rent contract with terms and conditions about house will they have right to charge me and put legal case on me?
