How can I cancel or void my rental agreement?
I am renting a room in an apartment in Amstelveen. My roommate is also my landlord. He is a very short tempered person. Within 5 days of moving in he tried to hit me because I was playing music at 9:30 on my smartphone. He doesn't clean the apartment either.
Last few days, he stopped the heating and it was very cold in the home. The temperatures are in negatives nowadays. I asked him to start heating but he did not respond. Last night, because of cold I had a lot of cough in my throat because of cold temperatures. So at 2AM, I knocked at his door and he said that he won't come out and will talk to me in the morning. I told him that I was feeling cold but he did not listen. So I told him that I will call the police if does not come out. So after 15 minutes, I called the police, to my request police said that this situation did not come under their work. So nothing could be done.
Now in the morning he called the IND and said that I did "physical assault" on him and requested them to make me leave the Netherlands and deported back to India, while I did not even touch him.
What can I do now? First I don't want to leave The Netherlands and second I want to break the agreement based on how he behaves with me.

If the Landlord also lives in te appartment nd uswa 50% of it, there is a standard contract of Hospitaverhuur. Each party may end it in the periode of 9 months , the Hospita respects 3 months cancellation time and needs a serious argument.
