How can I avoid forced resignation?

I work for a company and I have an unfortunate life event. My company cannot sustain me working abroad and at the same time does not permit of me to travel to my family and come back. They also want if I resign to stay within the country for a specific amount of days due to taxes. The life event is my father who is critically in Intensive Care Unit after having brain surgery, tracheotomy and his bile removed; I do undrstand taxes but the way it is handled violates human rights. Is there a way to resolve this?
