After renting an apartment in Amsterdam for 1 year, my mother passed away after an accident that occurred in that place.

Im one of her son, a French citizen just like her, and I did the exit checkout of the place with the rental agent. Everything was fine.

To this day, over a year later, the rental agency has still not returned any money of the 2 months deposit that was on that place.

According to the agent, Ive been talking to him a little bit by mail, they should have reimbursed about 3500 euros. (A sofa was damaged and electricity was due).

For a year, the agent said "I will ask the landlord, he has the money" and nothing happened. Nowadays, he doesn't even return any mail anymore. They just ignore me.

I now live in Asia, very far from the Netherlands, with no prospect to come back with the pandemic going on.

I would like to know if anyone can provide me any help whatsoever to help me recover that deposit. Thank You very much.
