Do we have to pay more money for swimming lessons?

In February last year, I signed up my 8 y.o. son for lessons since he needed his zwemdiploma. He attended several lessons, but there were several red flags, and we decided to stop using their services. Last Saturday I received a letter from a debt collection agency saying that we owe those guys money. I already paid them for several months of lessons + membership (ca. 210 Euro) and my son only attended two lessons.

We have not signed any documentation that would imply a lock-in of any kind.
This is a sign-up form that we filled out: https://zwemclubabc.easyswimportal.com/dmz/signup/1

Are there any legal grounds for them to ask us to pay them more money?

Based on the information you've shared, there might be a possible misunderstanding. First, it would be beneficial to check your contract or the terms and conditions, if these were provided when you signed up for the swimming lessons.

There might be certain payment obligations included or a cancellation process that you must follow. Any obligations should have been clear at the point of signing up.

If you haven't signed any document that indicates such payment obligation or specifies a particular cancellation process, then there may be no legal basis for the claim.

Additionally, if you can demonstrate any \"red flags\" regarding the quality of the lessons, you may also have a case for dispute, claiming that you didn't get the service you paid for.

Here are some steps you might consider:
1) Review your contract or terms and conditions if available.
2) Contact the swimming club (it's possible that the collection agency misunderstood information or an error was made).
3) If they maintain their stand, you might need to present a defense to the collection agency explaining why you don't believe you should pay. If they reject this, you may consider seeking legal advice from a specialized lawyer.
4) Consider documenting evidence of the \"red flags\" and any communication you had with the club about your concerns.

Please note this is general advice and your specific situation might need more precise legal advice. It might be wise to get in touch with a lawyer or legal professional to discuss your specific situation.
