Advice bicycle accident?
I am from Hungary and moved to the Netherlands and have worked since 04/12/2022. I currently live in K.
I would like to get some free advice from an accident legal expert.
Accidentally I crashed a car with a bike that I rent from my work company, at my work place parking lot in Heerlen before my work shift started on 11/01/2023. The car has lakschade damage, the registration plate bent on the corner and the car owner blames me that I broke a cross on the plastic car grille.
The car was parked and didn't move. Unfortunately I don't have insurance that could cover me and it turned out neither the bike is insured by my working company.
We filled up an aanrijdingsformulier document. That is all the owner of the car and I had as an official document about the accident.
The owner of the car's father has a German company and the car is insured by this German company. The owner of the car wants to take the car to a Nissan repair shop in Germany for repairing it.
I feel like she wants to take an advantage of this situation, asks too much money from me for getting the car fixed and I am not even sure, that do I really have to pay for it?
Is there any rule, law that can save me for not paying the car damages since I did not do it on purpose and I work for a minimum wage in The Netherlands?
Also, what can I aspect from her insurance? Will a damage expert take a look of her car and give an indication of how much it costs to replace it?
I can also send some pictures about the document, car and its damage through email.
