Help with divorce and legal problems

I was wondering what a friend of mine can do. He is involved in a (fighting) divorce. He is only allowed to see his child if he pays a certain amount. Cameras have been installed in his home by his in-laws without his knowledge. Is that allowed? I also wondered if blackmail and threats are allowed. It is said that if he does not collect his tools and belongings from the house within a few days, they will do it themselves and sell it. His wife (ex) has also taken things from him that are NOT hers. What should/can he do with this?
