Pension Rights: Free Legal Advice

Questioner

My mother and her husband lived together between 1968 and 1972 and had a daughter (my half-sister) in 1969. In 1972, my stepfather and my mother got married. My father had worked for the mine in Limburg in the 1950s and early 1960s. In 1964, he was declared unfit for work. He did continue to pay for his pension. My stepfather died in December 2012 after 40 years of marriage. The pension fund has stated that my mother is not entitled to her husband's pension because they only got married after he was declared unfit for work. What are her rights and obligations now?
