Refund of tuition fees
Questioner
I quit my job because I don't like it anymore and want to do something completely different. I already told my employer about this in June, so that they had enough time to find a replacement. I followed a course through them and now have to pay it back. That is understandable, but I don't have that money and they demand that I pay it back within three months. I would like to make an arrangement to pay this back in installments. I would like to hear if you see possibilities for this. Can they claim it within a period of three months or is it realistic that an arrangement can be made for this?Lawyer
The answer to this question depends on the specific circumstances. In general, an employer may claim a refund if, for example, too much salary has been paid due to an error. However, it is important that the employer acts reasonably when requesting a refund. To do this, they must first inform the employee and then give a reasonable period for repayment. What is considered 'reasonable' depends on several factors, including the amount to be repaid and the employee's financial situation. If it is a large amount, a period of 3 months can be quite short, especially if it could be financially difficult for the employee. In that case, it may be appropriate to negotiate a longer repayment period. This is a complex issue and it may be advisable to seek legal advice if you are concerned about whether your employer’s actions are reasonable. It is particularly important to do this before agreeing to any repayment terms.Neem de volgende stap
