Claiming inheritance share

Questioner

Both my parents are deceased. My mother has remarried. Her ex is still alive but has now remarried!? The inheritance of both my parents has still not been settled. I still have 1 brother and 3 sisters who have legal expenses insurance and of course I do not. After my own research it has become clear to me that I can no longer take out insurance for this. Here are a few questions: Can you do something for me, or do you have another solution? Do you have any idea what the costs will be? Perhaps your help depends on my income? Is that about what I earn or about our joint income of me and my wife? I would like to hear from you!

It is understandable that this situation feels complicated and you could use some clarification on this. I will do my best to provide some clarification on what the next steps might be. 1. The right to your inheritance: You are always entitled to your inheritance, regardless of the fact that your mother has remarried or that your father has died. How much this is exactly depends on many factors, such as any wills and the division of any inheritance from your parents. You may be entitled to a legitimate portion (minimum portion of inheritance) even if a will stipulates otherwise. 2. Support: While I cannot provide you with direct legal representation, I can advise you to seek out a lawyer or notary who specializes in inheritance law. They can help you understand your rights and ensure that you receive what you are entitled to. 3. Costs: The costs of a lawyer or notary can vary greatly depending on the complexity of the case, how much time they spend on it, etc. You can usually request a no-obligation consultation to get an estimate of the costs. 4. Income-related contribution: Some lawyers or notaries use an income-related contribution. This looks at the total income of the household. So in your case it would be the total income of you and your wife. I strongly recommend that you speak to an inheritance law specialist to discuss the details of your situation and get specific advice on how best to deal with it.' ---------------- Stichting Rechtswinkel.nl is a national organization with students and volunteers.
