Pay a lease car fine?

I have resigned from my employer. Now they suddenly indicate that I will receive a fine of €10,000 for a lease car. I received a lease car from them 2 years ago to get to my workplaces, I am also allowed to drive it privately. I have never received information about a lease term or costs, and was always under the impression that this was a car that I could simply return to them when I left. A previous car worked like that too and I was also allowed to return the car to another employer when I left. I have read emails back and I have never received this information about a buyout sum, and I have never signed anything for the car other than a damage form. What is useful in this? October 1st I start with a new employer, they will not take over the car. I do not have the money to buy the car or pay the redemption sum and because I have not signed anything I do not understand the high fine that the employer threatens to charge me.
