Rights regarding abandoned property?

Questioner

After our relationship ended, my ex-partner left several of his (and his employer's) properties in my home. He also failed to repair minor wall damage in my rental property, even though he had promised to do so. I have tried to contact him several times so that he could/can come and collect his belongings and repair the minor damage. However, only after receiving a response twice in which he indicated that he would come and collect these properties if he had time. But after the last attempt at contact in November 2022, in which he indicated that 'his head wasn't in the mood for it', he blocked me in every possible way of contact. Also no longer responds to emails. At this time, his property (and his employer's property) is still in my home. What action am I required to take? What is your advice in this situation? What else can/should I do to hand over these properties to him? What right does he have if, after a long period of time, he still wants to collect his belongings?
