How do I get out of my father's will?

I would like to know how I can be as disconnected from my father as possible in financial matters. My parents are divorced and his addiction to alcohol and gambling has left him deeply in debt. I now know for sure that my father has not made any arrangements for himself when he is older. This means he has nothing to fall back on for his old age. He also has no funeral insurance. Since he has neglected me, I do not want to risk having to incur any costs for him in any form. Is there any way that I will no longer be liable in any way for his actions and financial affairs after his death?

You can only reject the inheritance (the estate) after your father's death by formally filing a declaration of rejection with the registry of the court.
