What can children do against their father regarding alimony?

Questioner

Good afternoon, my daughters turned 18 last December and now the father wants to transfer the alimony directly to the girls. Now something happened 2 years ago and the girls no longer want contact with their father. I had sent him an app because he was no longer paying the alimony and he wanted the girls to contact him to discuss what they would need in terms of living expenses and how much the alimony should be now. The girls then wrote him a letter stating what they thought they were entitled to. (both were still under €100 on top of the statutory alimony). His answer was that he had discussed it with his lawyer and that he kept it at €162.86 pp (the statutory amount). My question for the girls is whether they could contest this and that they would receive more.

Lawyer

Your daughters can indeed contest the amount. If the amount has never been adjusted in the meantime, it is possible that a new calculation will result in a different child support amount. It is therefore advisable to have a new calculation made. If they want to enforce the possibly higher amount, they will have to approach a lawyer who can bring the case before the judge.
