How do I get rid of a no-obligation quote?

Questioner

In July 2021, I signed a completely non-binding quote with a company. They would rent the roof of my private property for 20 years, so that they would install a solar panel system on it and I would receive an annual fee for this. It has now been more than a year and I have lost confidence in this company; contacts were difficult and I was poorly informed about the progress. Now I have received a roof rental agreement from them in which many new matters are included (which were not in the quote) and which were never discussed and they want me to sign this agreement (so I have NOT signed this agreement yet). I have lost confidence in this party and I do not agree with many things in the roof rental agreement and I do not feel like doing business with this party for another 20 years. I also indicated this to the director, but he immediately started threatening about the costs they incurred. The quote that I signed at the time contains very little information. It also does not include the Chamber of Commerce number of the company (I read that this is mandatory). So I no longer want to do business with this company.

It is difficult to assess what exactly you have signed remotely, without having a copy of the quote you signed. This is relevant. What exactly is in the 'non-binding' quote and how should the relevant provisions be interpreted (?). In principle, you cannot be obliged to sign a (specific) agreement.

Thanks for your response. I can show you the quote. However, I don't see a way to add it as an attachment on this website. Can I email it to you? Yours sincerely, Michel ten Have
