Association Board Liability: What You Need to Know

I recently joined the board of an association. To what extent is the board liable for what the members do, for example during a day out?

If the association is not a formal association, the board is personally responsible for fulfilling all obligations entered into. What members do during a day out is not the responsibility of the board if it is not done on behalf of the association, unless the 3rd party may have relied on it.
