Can a bailiff claim my mother's belongings because I live with her?

Questioner

My 27 year old son lives at home again due to divorce. We also have a foster home placement because of mother so the little one of almost two lives here until September if all goes well. Mother did the financial arrangements but we have a lot of debts. My son took that on because she has nothing and my son is self-employed, but because he has so many debts and only gets more and cannot pay it all, we are afraid that the bailiffs will come and take away the things from my mother where he lives or are they not allowed to do that? My question is how far should I be afraid that they will come and take away my things because I have my son and grandchild in the house and cannot pay all the debts?

If you can prove with proof of purchase that these are your belongings, they cannot be seized. In principle, the contents can only be seized if your son is registered at your address and special provisions apply in that case as well.
