What can I do about neighbors who make our lives miserable?

For about 5 years now, we have had neighbors who make our lives miserable. We live on the 2nd house in a block of 5 houses. The current neighbors we are bothered by live next to us on a corner house in a rental house. When we moved in we had problems with barking dogs, cats that searched through our garbage can and tore bags, son with loud loud music, parties in the weekend. Local police officer came to mediate, situation only got worse. Highlights because we called the police, on the advice of the police themselves if there was noise again very late, then we got eggs against our window, broken windows, molestation (my throat was grabbed by my daughter's ex) and a door kicked in, the police no longer took us seriously, so a letter to the mayor, contact with the local police officer, there is no proof by photo or something so we can't do anything. If neighbours cause nuisance (hindrance), this will be unlawful. You could start an injunction action via the court, but then it will indeed depend on evidence. The neighbours will in all probability deny that they are causing nuisance and then there is a good chance that you will receive an order for evidence from the court. Incidentally, the approach starts with a good conversation with the neighbours. So a conversation in which you indicate that you are bothered by them and in which an attempt is made to make good agreements. But I assume that this station, unfortunately, has already been passed.
