Can an employer impose a 24-month non-competition clause?

Questioner

Can an employer impose a non-competition clause of 24 months on you and charge the employee €1,000 per day in the event of a violation? I also only received a separation allowance of €20 from January. Although I have been working in Sweden since May last year. Can I then have problems working for another company or is the contract no longer legally valid and would he still have to pay me the allowances?

A non-competition clause may not be 'imposed'. Such a clause must always be entered into in writing and meet the legal requirements. In principle, the clause must be signed when entering into the employment contract.
