Can my employer refuse my studies?
Questioner
I want to study while I have a permanent contract and the study will also take place during the week and has nothing to do with my current work. I can plan my study day ''reasonably'' flexibly but my employer is quite unreasonable. Can my employer refuse my study or disapprove or dismiss my days that I want to take off to follow my study? Study day is approximately 1 x every 2 weeks I also don't know if I have certain rights to still be able to follow this study. We are not affiliated with a collective labor agreementLawyer
In principle, you simply have the right to take a holiday, for example. The main rule is that holidays must be approved by the employer unless there are compelling business interests that oppose the granting of the holiday (which is unlikely to be the case). You can request vacation in writing. The employer must then respond within two weeks (if he does not do this, the vacation is granted). In this case, you could already submit a vacation request for the coming months, for example, asking for a fixed day off every two weeks. Taking vacation may not in itself be a reason for dismissal.
