Notice period for stabling horses

Questioner

My horse is stabled at a boarding stable, 7 years ago I went there and signed a contract that included a notice period of 1 month, in return the stable provides all services for care, including mucking out the stables. However, in April 2021 they decided to immediately stop providing the stable mucking out service. A large number of customers then left and there was no difficulty about a notice period. I stayed with my horse and from then on had to muckle out the stable myself. No new contract was drawn up. However, I have now decided to move my horse to another stable, where I can go as of April 1. My question is whether I can still be held to the notice period. I don't think so because the stable itself breached the contract last year, but I did agree to it for 11 months. Can I leave at the end of this month without consequences?

You could still demand a price reduction for the services not provided or immediate termination.

My answer stems from your legal position, apologies that this was not made clear to you, but in principle you are simply bound by the notice period. If you want to do something about the unfulfilled obligations, you can suspend your own obligation as a stick behind the door, but the damage has already been done. What remains is therefore the possibility of a default letter in which you implement a price reduction for unfulfilled obligations and that you then propose to equate that price reduction to a price of one month's rent.
