Dear, since October 20, 2021 I have been working at Transportbedrijf, this concerns the transport of medicines to pharmacies and hospitals during the night hours. However, this demands quite a lot from my lifestyle and I have had to change my rhythm. Lately, I have not been getting along well with my manager at Transportbedrijf. And so I started looking for another job. While I was still working at Transportbedrijf. However, I overslept on February 14, after which I contacted them later in the afternoon and a conversation followed, this was done in an unfriendly manner in my opinion, after which I became certain that I no longer wanted to work here, I worked the rest of this week as usual. However, on February 18, I accidentally overslept again after I received a text message and later an email stating that they were considering firing me. And dismissal on the spot would follow if I did not show up. Because the conversation on Monday was not very friendly and in the meantime I have been contacted with a possible new job. I didn't feel like reporting on Monday. As a result, I was dismissed on the spot. Now a letter from a law firm follows. stating that the Transport Company is suffering damage as a result and that I am liable for damages. They want to settle this by withholding my salary (from February) and also my holiday pay and days off because according to the contract I was supposed to be employed until March 31 and have now been dismissed early. They want to recover the period from March 1 to March 31 from me. I would like advice on whether this is allowed and what my rights are in this situation, because it seems to me that they are not allowed to simply withhold a full salary. Thank you in advance!
