Where can we go with the costs of a leaking central heating boiler?

Questioner

There is a leak in our central heating boiler. We noticed this because the heating stopped. Top up the water and the heating worked again. But 2 days later: heating off again! Where is the water, where is the leak? Leak detection agency: paid almost 400 euros. With the report to the VvE. But the insurance says it will not reimburse this. Another insurer is surprised: because everything that is fixed to the nail is covered by the VvE building insurance. At the time, we could not take out building insurance, because this was already covered by the VvE. Where should we now go with the repair costs and detection costs? The water damage that occurred at the neighbours is reimbursed by the third party insurance.

Lawyer

If you have your own heating appliance that is not covered and is only for use in your own living space as a permanent improvement, it must be insured via a separate, own building insurance. I do not know if the above applies. Damage to the entire building is usually collectively insured, but later individual adjustments are not. You may contact me directly so that I can view the regulations and the reason why the insurer rejects your claim.
