Business rent increase without contract
Questioner
I have my own hair salon. It is located on an industrial estate. I sublet it. The person I rent from also rents it from someone else. But I never got a contract from the person I rent from. Now he is talking about the gas bill being too high and such. And wants to increase the rent by 500 euros. What rights do I have in this??? I would like to hear it very much Kind regardsLawyer
Based on the current information I can only give a general answer. An oral lease agreement is also a lease agreement. It is therefore difficult to prove what was agreed between you at the time. If you have been renting for a long time, you may be able to prove the agreed rent price by means of monthly transfers. Even with a verbal rental agreement, there are conditions attached to a rent increase. Not in all cases of business rent, the rent may be increased if you have not made agreements about it. This depends on the type of rent. In addition, the price of gas is in principle separate from the price of rent. Have you agreed on the costs for gas, water and electricity?
