Home enjoyment affected by stench

We have experienced major maintenance (renovation) and have had a lot of noise and odor nuisance as a result. During the major maintenance, the housing association gave us a guest house that was far below standard. We were given a house in the renovation area, so we simply suffered from the renovation, no peace and quiet as we were promised. When we returned to our house, we were still bothered by noise pollution from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for months. From day 1 we had a lot of trouble with the stench and after 2.5 years after insistence of the residents' committee there was an investigation and they discovered that they had made a big mistake by not placing the pipe through the roof but under the roof, they admitted the mistake in writing, we as residents have been in the stench for more than 2.5 years, apart from the health, the quality of living has been greatly affected in this time and we would like to receive recognition for this and a reasonable compensation. What do you think about this?
