Unpaid during the renovation of the supermarket

Questioner

I work in a supermarket. It will soon be renovated. Now the store is also closing for the staff due to the major renovation and we have a mandatory week and a half off. Now those without a 0-hour contract (normal contract) have to make up their hours later in the renovation (never feasible because you simply cannot work 2 weeks in 1 week) and those with a 0-hour contract do not get paid but can also make up their hours later. On top of that, courses and meetings must be attended. These are then seen as hours worked. It is understandable that you have to work on other days and even other times. And that you are not allowed to leave during the autumn holidays... okay. But unpaid? Is this allowed and do you, as an employee, not get the short end of the stick?

Lawyer

The renovation (and closure) are choices of the entrepreneur. Those days must therefore simply be paid.
