Can I work part-time for another employer?

Questioner

I want to work part-time for another employer outside my working hours at my current employer. My employment contract contains something about relationships with third parties... Quote: 9.5. The employee is not permitted, either during the employment relationship or for a period of three years thereafter, to approach or have approached relations of the employer, either directly or indirectly, on behalf of himself or third parties, with the intention or with the result of inducing the relationship to award assignments already granted to the employer, or assignments for which negotiations about the award have already begun, to anyone other than the employer. End of quote. If I understand correctly, I am allowed to do the same type of work for another employer in my 'free time'. Can you tell me if I understand correctly and how exactly this works, please?

This clause does not work on a secondary employment clause. This is a clause in the employment contract on the basis of which you as an employee are limited to perform secondary employment. I advise you to have your employment contract fully assessed to see if you could still have a problem with secondary employment.
