What is the best thing to do with my employment contract?
Questioner
I currently work for a company with a zero-hours contract. In May, I started a new job and asked for a pay rise in an interview. My employer said that I would have a performance review within two weeks and that I could then discuss it with them. This performance review ultimately took 5 to 6 weeks, but eventually this interview took place. In the meantime, I had already started the new job. I made a proposal in the interview. My employers indicated that they would discuss this and that I would hear something after the weekend. However, I did not hear anything for a very long time. After asking several times, I received an email on Friday, July 16. It contained a contract that I had to sign by Wednesday, July 21. I received a pay rise of one euro, but no further explanation. I do not agree with the way things went and would like to discuss it again. However, my previous contract expired exactly on Friday, July 16. So I have not signed a contract now, but I am still working. I am curious about what my position is now and what is the best thing for me to do now. I'd love to hear from you! Kind regards, Anne-WilLawyer
If your employment contract expired on 16 July but you have continued to work since then, a new employment contract will most likely have been created (automatically) (based on the same conditions for a maximum of one year). Incidentally, it is also relevant whether your employment contract has been extended more often in the past and how long you have been working for this employer for the question of whether an employment contract for an indefinite period has also been created. In any case, I advise you to discuss the salary increase with your employer again, because I understand that this was your main objective. If you can make an agreement about this, it is important that it is properly recorded (in writing).Neem de volgende stap
