What can I demand, I have been working for 7 years and 9 months

Questioner

My current employer will be moving our company from Nijkerkerveen to Hoogezand as of 1-11-2021. We obviously have the option to move with them, but I don't want to. By then I will have been working there for 7 years and 9 months. They have offered me a transition payment (1/3 of the gross monthly salary per year worked), as required by law. They are also offering me a bonus of 1 extra month's salary if I continue working until the end (31-10-20121). And a settlement agreement. My question is: Can I demand more in terms of a final bonus? Or do I not stand a chance because it is not required by law? What else can I demand/ask/propose. I would like to make a counter-proposal if that is useful.

Is it possible to email the settlement agreement to: chel@voc-advocaten.nl?

Lawyer

If you do not agree with the settlement agreement that they have sent you and with what the employer offers you in it, it is indeed wise to submit this to a lawyer for review. The lawyer can then check with you whether the employer's offer would be appropriate in your situation or not. If it turns out that you could be entitled to a higher transition payment and other provisions, the lawyer can then enter into negotiations with your employer. If you wish, you can also contact me now that we could also assist you in this.
