What is a reasonable amount to ask if the landlord wants to buy you out?

Questioner

I have been renting a room in a private house for several years. This building is divided into several parts with their own front door. The landlord himself lived in one of these parts, and the others are rented out. The rented parts have several rooms for tenants with a shared kitchen and bathroom. Unfortunately, the landlord passed away last year and it went to the heirs. They plan to sell the house in two parts, which is difficult now because there are still tenants. They have offered to buy me out so that I can move. I am not necessarily against this, but my situation is a bit complicated: I am looking for a job, so it is difficult to find a replacement place to live before I know where I will be working. In addition, my current rent is quite cheap, and a comparable place with the current prices might cost twice as much. On the other hand, if I were to find a job far away, I would still move and such a 'leaving bonus' would be a nice bonus. As a tenant I am of course in a strong position, but I get along quite well with the heirs and I don't feel like making a big fuss about it. Since it concerns a room, the legal minimum moving amount of >7000 euros does not apply, which would apply to a house. Hence my question: What would be a reasonable amount to ask for this? Thank you in advance!

You should think of a reduction of 40% of the unoccupied value of the part of the house that you live in. For that you can use the WOZ value. Or six to nine months rent.

Great, thanks. Then I know roughly what to think about.
