Where am I allowed to work and can I do so in a different position after a non-competition clause?

Until April 30, I will be working as a company manager at a construction painting company. I have a non-compete clause that prohibits me from starting my own business for a year and from working in the same company. If you had a fixed-term employment contract, a non-competition clause is in principle invalid. Unless the clause explains why the clause is necessary.
