Who is responsible for tree maintenance?

I rent a piece of land from the municipality. There are three large trees on it. Those trees are over 50 years old and not planted by me. Is the municipality responsible for the maintenance since they own the land?

Major maintenance arrears are usually the responsibility of the landlord, unless the tenant uses the property for business purposes or accepts it in the situation as it was at the time the lease commenced (check the contract). This is normal, minor recurring maintenance for the tenant.
