Why do I have to paint at my own expense from the landlord?

Landlord wants me to paint the damage caused by leakage myself, stating article 11.1 general rental provisions. However, I am of the opinion that leakage from outside, roof leaks and the consequential damage to the ceiling and walls are the landlord's responsibility. This is a defect in the home. Should I paint or not?

The damage is the result of a defect in the rented property (the leakage from outside) and therefore the landlord is obliged to reimburse your costs. The painting work does not fall under the normal regulation of minor defects and maintenance.
