Why a day off during day care?

I had to take a day off for a day hospital stay. Normally I would be sick for 1 day. Can a day be counted for this? I work in small metal

You are entitled to sick leave (no need to take off hours) in case of hospitalisation, but the law states that the employer may leave the first two days of illness at the expense of the employee. The collective labour agreement may deviate from this in favour of the employee. The employer can also arrange this in the employment contract. If this has not happened, then the employer is unfortunately right.
