What is a reasonable transition payment in my case and who can provide me with legal advice?

Questioner

I have been working for the same company for about 24 years, which has now been sold for the second time to a large multinational. There has recently been a new manager who wants to reorganize some things. Yesterday, during an appraisal interview, I was suddenly told that they would rather not continue with me. I received 7 days of paid leave and a letter with a transition proposal to which I should respond by 2/16/2021. I had to hand over the access key to the building and was also asked for the password for my work computer.

Lawyer

The amount of the transition payment (TV) is set by law. On the internet you will find various calculation programs with which you can calculate the amount of the TV. If the employer has acted seriously reprehensibly, you can sometimes also claim a fair compensation (BV). Calculating the BV is much more difficult. That depends on many factors. From what I read, the employer wants to offer you a settlement agreement (VSO). Have this VSO checked by a specialized labor law attorney (member of a specialist association), e.g. me. Often the employer pays the attorney's fees.
