Assistance with Collection and Settlement Proposals

Questioner

We received a settlement proposal from Vesting Finance regarding 2 unpaid invoices 1 from BPL of which we received a second reminder with the instruction to pay within 4 working days, we were unable to do this so this collection agency sent us a collection letter with the associated costs. We also received a second reminder from Colland but a collection letter with the additional costs was never sent to us. We were however made a settlement proposal in which a few € of the costs were waived but that concerned both collections, Our question is, is this possible or should the direct debit that was never sent not be included in the settlement proposal?

In general, you will find the rules regarding payment and collection in the general terms and conditions of a company. My advice is to submit this matter to the collection agency. They can check whether you have been put in default and on what date. You can often make an arrangement with them.
