Legal questions about boiler maintenance?
Questioner
During an inspection/maintenance of my HR boiler, the technician removed a condensate collection tray to reach another component. However, this was fuller than expected and some water therefore flowed out of the tray and fell on a fan that was underneath. This broke as a result and had to be completely replaced. The costs of the fan (190.00) are now being charged to me in full. I completely disagree with this because there was nothing wrong with the fan, it broke as a result of carrying out the inspection. What are my rights?Lawyer
The question here is whether the mechanic was reasonably allowed to act as he did, based on his expertise. If so, then I think the costs are for you. You can also turn it around and wait whether the mechanic will ask for payment via the court (the amount is actually too small for that), but then you will probably have to call in another mechanic in the future if something happens. Perhaps an idea to share the costs?Neem de volgende stap
