Liability for damage caused by window cleaner

Is it possible to ask for financial compensation from the window cleaner/landlord, as half a day off had to be taken because a window cleaner hired by the landlord of an apartment dropped his ladder through our glazed front door? Unfortunately, I had to immediately request leave and have now been waiting for hours for a glazier.
