Moving company liability: Free advice
Questioner
We took over a fitness machine from our neighbours. Because it was very heavy, we hired a moving company to move it. Unfortunately, the neighbours and ours suffered damage to the floor and walls, the movers were not very handy. We want the damage to the neighbours to be repaired in any case because we have called in the company that caused their damage. The moving company is now invoking its terms and conditions which state that they are not liable for damage to floors, doors, etc. Can I then approach this via my own liability insurance? Or will they then indicate that it has to be resolved with the company? The damage amounts to around €1200, the move itself was €200...Lawyer
Yes, that is possible, but then this insurer will invoke the professional liability of the moving company and also hold them accountable. You can try.Neem de volgende stap
