School liability for damage? Get free advice

Questioner

Today my son went ice skating with school, during skating his new shoes (and bag and skate protectors were stolen) there were no lockers on the ice rink and if there were, the students were not informed to use them. The children had to put their shoes in their bags and the teachers would supervise. However, the teachers were in a different room than the room where the stuff was. Is this a case of liability of the school?

Lawyer

In principle, yes. If the school were to supervise the children's belongings and this did not happen, then it has failed to do so and can be held liable for the damage. The damage must be attributed to the school as a result of the failure. I advise you to hold the school liable in writing. If you are unable to reach an agreement (yet), I would be happy to look at your case.
