Liability for debts after relationship termination

In a previous relationship, a considerable debt was incurred that was only in my name. When the relationship ended, there was consensus (in writing) that both were responsible for the debt. Later, my ex decided that she did not want to pay and I have never seen a cent from her. The repayment is putting a considerable strain on my budget. Are there any ways to hold her liable for part of the blame?

I understand that the debt is in your name. Depending on the agreements made when the relationship ended, you may or may not be able to hold your ex liable. If your ex has taken over (part of) your debt or has assumed liability for it in the context of the total division of the joint estate at the time, then it is possible that she can be held liable.
