Liability and Compensation - Legal Aid
Questioner
I have caused damage to a pillar in the storage space where I rented a storage box. The damage was caused by driving into the pillar with an electronic security box attached to it, which damaged this box. I signed a liability declaration on the day of the damage-causing event. Now I am being held liable for an amount of almost 500 euros. I have two problems with this: - The storage space has requested a quote - The storage facility has only requested one quote Now my question is; Can I postpone the payment of this damage until the storage facility has requested multiple quotes? Besides, isn't this kind of damage covered by their insurance?Lawyer
In principle, you can request a postponement until the quotes are in. You can also request a counter-expertise if you think the damage is too high. The damage to the rented property is usually at the expense of the tenant, unless otherwise agreed in the general terms and conditions. If you are unable to reach an agreement (yet), I would be happy to look at your case.Neem de volgende stap
