day, There is a summons against me to appear in court. This is regarding an unpaid claim. I am going to lose this case 100% because I have been negligent. The claim will therefore be granted. Does anyone know how long it takes a bailiff to have this ruling served? So after what period after the ruling can I expect the bailiff again? Is this days, weeks? The same day?Lawyer
If you have been summoned, it is important that you respond to the court before the date stated on the summons. You can request a postponement for a response ('conclusion of response'). If the case is not before a subdistrict court judge, you will need a lawyer for this. He or she may be able to assist you on a pro deo basis. If you do not respond in time (request a postponement), you will probably be sentenced in default and almost certainly also be charged with the legal costs. Please feel free to contact me to discuss the case.Lawyer
You do not appear -> default -> this will take several weeks. You do appear -> defense -> this may take several months. You say that you will definitely lose the case -> is it not wise to make an arrangement with the bailiff? A procedure involves (many) costs. It is therefore in your interest to keep these as low as possible. Service -> this again entails (many) costs. It is therefore important not to let it get that far.
