What to do in case of slander and libel?

I was going to buy my rental house in December 2017, but after six months I was unable to arrange the valuation report and it suddenly fell through. The mortgage advisor did not want to say or explain the reason. She did consult with the real estate agent from whom I would buy the house, and also rent it. I had a mortgage for thirty years and as a teacher and grandmother I was very hurt to be called that by ignorant people and provincials. Then I had to leave the same house.
