Employee and shift work: Your rights
Questioner
Hello, I would like to know if I, as a 63 year old, can be forced to work in three or two shifts. This could happen at my work in the short term and I am not looking forward to this at all. To be honest, I do not want this at all. I now work in day shifts and after 44 years I think that is more than enough. Physically I can no longer do it and then three shifts!! I have already indicated that I don't feel like it, but the answer I got was the word 'refusal to work'. Can this just happen, is this allowed?? Please respond as soon as possible, due to the time frame in which this will take place. Thank you in advance.Lawyer
Your employer may not force you to do this, but will have to discuss the alternatives with you in consultation after it has become apparent that the shift work cannot be implemented. If you cannot reach an agreement, I would be happy to look at your case.Neem de volgende stap
