Liability in case of home leakage | Legal aid

Questioner

Hello I purchased an existing home in January, which was transferred on March 1. 2 weeks before the transfer, a leak was visible in the ceiling of the living room, under the bathroom. The seller would have this repaired and the ceiling painted. The leak probably came from the sealant edge of the shower, the residents themselves had this replaced and the ceiling painted before the transfer. So the leak would have been fixed. After living there happily for 1 month, a leak has become visible again in the same place in the ceiling. Now my question is whether I can hold the selling party liable and who should pay the costs for repair and consequential damage. The house was bought through an estate agent at the time, but I get little response from them. yours sincerely

In any case, inform the seller (not the broker) in writing, clearly indicate what is going on, and give the seller a reasonable period for investigation and repair.
