Plasterer's liability: Legal advice

Questioner

Dear lawyers, A few months ago, a plasterer plastered all our walls. Now we noticed that our drain in the kitchen was draining less and less. This was also the place where the plasterer rinsed out his buckets. Today, a drain unblocking company came by and removed large chunks of plaster from the pipe. This man indicated that the plastering had caused the blockage. Can/may we hold the plasterer liable for the blockage? Yours sincerely!

Lawyer

Of course you can hold the plasterer liable for this. The plasterer should have known that a sink is not a sink for cleaning buckets of plaster residue. A letter from a lawyer can make a good impression.
