Rights in case of delayed computer repair

Questioner

I bought a computer last October (had it built) at Saturn ib Zaandam. It broke down in July and they offered it for repair on 23-07-2012. When I inquired after 5 weeks it was still not ready. Now 19-11-2012 they are still waiting for parts according to the service person. It is ready with less memory and a hard drive is missing. and they still cannot tell me when I can pick it up complete. Am I entitled to dissolve the purchase agreement due to far exceeding a reasonable warranty period = 4 weeks. Now almost 4 months on the road.

Lawyer

I think a repair period of 4 months for a new computer is indeed much too long. So I would now set a period of 10 days within which the computer must be repaired. If that does not work, you can then cancel the purchase agreement and claim back the purchase price, possibly with a small deduction for use over three quarters of a year.
